Attendance Contract for 18 Year Olds

03-AttendancePolicy24-25docx (PDF)

This pdf has a breakdown of the EHS attendance policies and expectations. All of this information is written out on the EHS Attendance web page.

Expectations and Consequences

  • Students will be in their seats, prepared for instruction when the bell rings
  • Students arriving tardy to class will accrue 10 minutes
  • Students missing more than 20 minutes of class will receive a truant tardy and accrue 15 minutes
  • Students who cut class (an absence that was not excused by a parent/guardian after 3 days) will accrue 20 minutes

Communication

  • It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their minutes.  Balances can be found under “fees” in PowerSchool.
  • Deadlines for clearing minutes will be 1 week prior to an event.
  • The No-Go List and deadlines for clearing minutes are posted on the Attendance Board outside of the Counseling Office.

No-Go List: 80+ Minutes

Miss out on sports, dances and field trips!

Students with more than 80 minutes will not be allowed to participate in any extra-curricular activity.

Students will be listed by locker number on the No-Go List posted outside of the Counseling Office.

Ways to Reduce Minutes

Go to Class!  Prevent accrual of minutes by being in class.

After School Detention: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45pm-4:45pm in the Lecture Hall. Students will have 60 minutes removed if all rules are followed.

Saturday School: Held once a month in the library for students with 200 or more minutes. Students will have 240 minutes removed if all rules are followed. Forms available in the attendance office.

Math tutoring: Available everyday before and after school. Check the bulletin for locations. Students will have minute for minute served removed.

Study Halls: Ask a teacher about a study hall in their classroom. Students will have minute for minute served removed.

Attendance Court: Students with extreme attendance issues may be offered the opportunity to attend attendance court, a 4 week program through the Teen Center, after meeting with their parents/guardians and their counselor.
