EHS Academic Schedule Starting Aug. 31

Good evening Eureka High families, this is Jennifer Johnson, principal. We are delighted to welcome your student back to school this year - even though we are in a distance learning program. This week teachers have been working with students on how to navigate the digital learning platforms as well as leading activities to build classroom community. This is our orientation week and we have been using our week one class meeting schedule that was sent home prior to school starting.

Beginning on Monday, August 31, we will be launching into our academic schedule. This schedule ensures that we are meeting the minimum number of instructional minutes required by the state while also ensuring that students are making progress towards meeting content area standards. Unlike emergency distance learning in the spring, we are on a regular schedule with students attending class online every day. Teachers will have contact with all six classes on Monday to set the stage for the week. We will then be doing a block schedule with three periods a day, allowing teachers and students to more deeply focus on content and learning while in the virtual world.

This schedule may be found on the EHS website https://ehs.eurekacityschools.org/, Facebook and teachers will post in their Google Classrooms. Please review this schedule carefully with your student as it is different from the week one schedule.

Now that the school year has started, please help your student be ready to learn by ensuring they get adequate sleep and have an appropriate space to use their device for connecting to the classroom. Students should ensure that they attend each class on time and show respect for fellow students and the teacher while using any of the online learning platforms.

We are still working through the technology request list to get students Chromebooks and hotspots as we receive shipments. If you have technology needs please call the main office at 441-2508.

Again, welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are excited to have you with us. Go…….. Loggers
