Robert Standish has served as the Principal of Eureka High School since 2022, following eight years as the school’s Assistant Principal. His educational journey began in 2002 at South Fork High School in Miranda, California, where he taught Social Science and Media Production through 2014. With over two decades of experience in education, Mr. Standish brings a deep commitment to student development and community partnership.

Guided by a philosophy that emphasizes the growth of the whole child—mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially—Principal Standish views schools as microcosms of society, where meaningful interaction and shared responsibility are the foundations of learning. He believes every educator and staff member is a leader and should be empowered to contribute to a culture of collective ownership and student success.

Under his leadership, Eureka High School is making measurable strides. IXL data shows notable gains in reading among 9th and 10th graders, and students are steadily building essential academic skills. At the same time, math remains a growth area, and the school is committed to deepening support in that domain. Positive shifts in school culture are also evident, with declining suspension and chronic absenteeism rates—progress achieved through strong collaboration between staff, students, families, and local partners.

With its beautifully diverse student body, Eureka High School reflects the vibrancy of the Eureka community itself. Principal Standish celebrates this diversity as a core strength and continues to champion inclusive practices that ensure every student has access to the relationships, resources, and respect needed to thrive.

"As we look ahead, I invite our families and community members to reflect, engage, and dream with us," says Standish. "Together, we can build a future where every student feels seen, supported, and ready to shape the world beyond high school."
