Together WE Accomplish More: Building Partnerships with Our Community
In the ECS Portrait of a Graduate, learners are challenged to become Community Engagers. To help students authentically demonstrate the skills and competencies they develop in the classroom, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for them to apply their learning beyond the school walls.
With this in mind, EHS is building a list of local opportunities for students to serve and connect with our community. If you are interested in supporting learning at EHS, please complete the survey linked here.
ECS is seeking community partners who can collaborate with us in one or more of the following ways:
Service Learning & the Seal of Civic Engagement
EHS students participate in the California Seal of Civic Engagement, which requires them to complete service-learning projects that positively impact their community. Many students partner with local nonprofits or civic organizations to complete this authentic demonstration of their learning. We are gathering a list of volunteer opportunities that will allow students to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Career-Connected Learning
EHS is expanding opportunities that align with students’ career goals. We are seeking partners who can provide internships, job shadowing, industry presentations, and entry-level work experiences. Looking ahead, we plan to host a career fair where students can explore and compete for local employment opportunities.
Celebrating Student Learning
We are committed to recognizing and celebrating student achievement through benchmark experiences such as History Day and Portfolio Presentations. We welcome respected community members to serve as judges, mentors, or guests during these events.
Building Mutually Beneficial Partnerships
ECS is dedicated to collaborating with community partners to ensure our graduates develop the skills needed to thrive in local industries and civic organizations. We invite community members to serve on advisory boards and task force committees as we continue advancing our efforts to make students Future Ready.
