New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation - Friday, August 16, 2024, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
This day is organized by our Associated Student Body to allow incoming freshmen and new students the opportunity to explore our campus, meet upperclassmen and faculty, and gain valuable knowledge about how to succeed in the busy high school environment. Incoming freshmen and new students can also pick up their schedules and walk around to classes with friends and parents. This day is a great orientation opportunity – not to be missed! The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024. Please drop your student off in front of the cafeteria. Orientation will conclude around 1:30 p.m.

School Pictures
Friday, Aug 30 | Retakes: Wed, Oct 2
Picture packets will be sent home during the first week of school. If you would like to purchase pictures, please bring the packet with exact cash or check on picture day. Pictures can be purchased online with the unique school code indicated on the picture packet. All students will have their picture taken even if they are not going to make a purchase. These pictures are used for school I.D. cards, school records, and student body cards, and are included in the yearbook.
Pictures are extremely important in the event of an emergency and must be accurate.
New for 2024-2025
Cell Phones
The use of cell phones by students will be prohibited during class time. If you need to contact your student, please call the Attendance Office at 707-441-3352, and we can get a message to them. The new EHS cell phone policy will be posted soon.
Student Enrollments is all Online
If you are new to Eureka City Schools, you are required to enroll your student online. This creates a PowerSchool Parent Portal where you can see your student’s grades, attendance, etc. Click here to register a student.
Going Digital - Annual Notice to Parents & Guardians
The Annual Notice is a document that contains legal disclosures and important forms to fill out: emergency contact information, income survey, media refusal, etc. In previous years, we have sent home this large packet on the first day of school. This year the packet will be digital. We will send out more information about how to update those forms at the beginning of the school year.
Academics
Physical Education Clothes
Students must dress down for P.E. They are required to wear an EHS t-shirt and their own shorts or sweatpants. EHS t-shirts can be purchased at the Finance Office window for $10.00 each. EHS has some P.E. clothing that may be checked out to students free of charge. Please see your P.E. teacher for more information.
AP Classes
Students enrolled in AP class(es) for 2024-2025 are expected to complete the whole year and take the AP exam in the spring. There is a fee to take the AP exam that is payable through the Finance Office. The AP test fee may be waived based on household income.
Chromebooks
New and incoming students are issued a Chromebook from the EHS library during the first week of school. “Student Technology Use Policy” and “Damage Waiver” forms will be sent home on the first day of school. Please bring them back by Wednesday, August 21, 2024, so that there is no delay in checking out your Chromebook. If your student already has a Chromebook checked out to them, they will need to sign a new Acceptable Use Policy Form available in the library.
