Social Science
  • 3 years, 30 credits, 6 semesters
  • Must pass: World History/Geography CP, U.S. History CP, Civics CP, and Economics CP, or AP Government in lieu of Civics/Economics CP
  • 4 years, 40 credits, 8 semesters
  • 2 years, 20 credits, 4 semesters
  • Must pass 1 year of Algebra 1
  • 2 years, 20 credits, 4 semesters
  • Must pass 1 year of Biology and 1 year of Physical Science
Fine Arts Career Technical Education (CTE), Visual & Performing Arts, or World Language
  • 1 year, 10 credits, 2 semesters
  • CTE courses may be used to satisfy the diploma Fine Arts area requirement for the 2016-17 school year: (2017-18 and beyond pending legislation approval) Ag Floral Design CP, Architectural Design CP, Ag Processing and Production, Ag Mechanics, Small Gas Engines 1-2, Health Occupations 2, Accounting 1-2, Metals 1, Welding 1-2, Woodworking 1-2-3, Cabinetry, Auto 1-2-3, Culinary 1, Media Productions, Computer Programming, Web Page Design, Video/Audtio Productions.

Health and Safety

Freshman Seminar

  • 1/2 year, 5 credits, 1 semester (2016 - 2018 graduates only)
  • 1 year, 10 credits, 2 semesters (2019 graduates and beyond)

Physical Education

  • 2 years, 20 credits, 4 semesters
  • Students must pass the Fitnessgram test during Freshman PE, or will be mandated to complete a full year of PE during their sophomore year
  • 85 credits, 17 semesters (2017 & 2018 graduates)
  • 80 credits, 16 semesters (2019 graduates and beyond)

Four-Year College UC/CSU Admission Requirements

  • Fifteen yearlong college prep courses from approved "A-G" lists are required with a grade of C or better.
  • (11 "A-G" courses must be completed prior to fall semester senior year)

Area A: 2 Years

  • Include 1 year of World History/Geography, plus 1 year of U.S. History CP or 1/2 year of U.S. History CP and 1/2 year of Civics/American Government

Area B: 4 Years of College Prep English

  • Must include frequent and regular writing, reading of classic and modern literature, poetry and drama

Area C: 3 Years (4 preferred)

  • Must include Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Math Analysis, AP Calculus, and/or AP Statistics are recommended.

Area D: 2 Years (3 preferred)

  • At least one year each of biological and physical science is required.

Area E: 2 Years of World Language other than English (3 preferred)

  • Must be the same language


Area F: 1 Year of Visual or Performing Arts courses

  • Must complete a year/2 semesters of the same subject

Area G: 1 or more years

  • In addition to required courses above chosen from the following areas: Visual & Performing Arts (non-introductory), History, Social Science, English, Advanced Math, Lab Sciences & languages other than English (a 3rd year in the language used to cover World Language requirement or 2 years of another language)
