Eureka High School’s Homecoming is approaching. The events kick off Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in the high school cafeteria. We will induct four worthy recipients into the Athletic Hall of Fame. This is a public event. This year’s four inductees are:

Duane Petersen for 36 years served as the head coach of four different varsity sports at Eureka High School and as Athletic Director.

Tony Adan (class of 1984) who was a star in football and track and field. He was a standout most valuable player as a lineman. He went on to make his mark at College of the Redwoods and New Mexico State.

Ana Vainuku (class of 2000) participated in three sports: volleyball, basketball and track and field and excelled in all of them. Ana was the HDN Champion in the 100 meter, 200 meter, shot put and was on the HDN 4x100 meter championship relay team, as well as North Coast Section and state qualifier in many events.

Max Hooper (class of 1977) was a standout wrestler and football player during his career at Eureka High School. As a wrestler, Max had an overall record of 52-9 with 38 of those victories made by pinning an opponent.
